Moonshine wins award!...
Dixie Jack recently released their first album "MOONSHINE" for two charity causes. The recording and final production were done at Confetti Studios in Nottingham. This facility is part of Castle College Nottingham and caters for budding sound techs, sound designers and media students. This is an excellent set up with very dedicated staff and gets high results for the students. As part of the course for sound technicians our album was produced by Rob and Dan who were a joy to work with, especially as the lads in the band were very inexperienced recording artists. As the end of the aceademic year approached Rob and Dan submitted all their work for marking and as a result of the good work they did with us "MOONSHINE" was awarded best production for the year, Rob and Dan picked up the award at "ANTENNA" the media club supported by "CONFETTI" and Dixie Jack are invited back to do more work in the new fabulous "floating room" studio Electric Mayhem, Confetti's pride and joy. Well done lads you deserve the award and incidentally the tutors liked our music...................!!!!

Welcome back to Andy Moran on double bass after his time off last year and lucky us keep the services of the one and only Richard Sample, moving up a desk or two to concentrate on fiddle, banjo,lead guitar and lap steel.
This pushes us up to a six piece combo able to provide a multi- disciplined array of styles from hillbilly stomp thro blue grass, cajun, irish folk/rock, rockabilly,psychcobilly, and even classical guitar with the odd barbershop sextet thrown in for good measure.
This is we feel the way to progress and not get stuck in a genre that just sounds the same old same old, also allows us to give great value for money to a wider audience. The next album should be a scream !! Look out USA we will be back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Next gig will be a party for "Foxy" and Jenny to celebrate their joint 50th birthdays and 25 year wedding anniversary, it will be a surprise to those two currently in Goa on vacation but everyone is welcome to come along............DKI Saturday 28th January from 8pm.
The success of all of the gigs in Virginia in October has resulted in offers for the band to return to the US next year.
Dixie Jack will play the July 4th community celebration for Brandermill, before an audience of more than 500.
The 32nd National Veterans Wheelchair Games organizers are negotiating for the band to perform at several functions during this 6-day major national wheelchair sporting event.
Every single gig location played in October in the US wants Dixie Jack to come back and play again. We rocked!!

Dixie Jack were formed Easter 2010 after meeting one another at an open mike session in Nottingham, England.
Their common love of Bluegrass, Rockabilly, Country Rock and Folk music has resulted in their interpretation of Hillbilly Stomp.

Dixie Jack debut album - "Moonshine"
Recorded at Confetti Studios, Nottingham, England as a live band session, this debut album represents the band in their "raw" state.
